HEALING THROUGH ARCHITECTURE VIRTUAL EXHIBITION ANNOUNCEMENT
February 23, 2022
Designing a house, a building, or a space is only a small part of what architecture entails. Architecture is a delicate field that integrates science and technology with human behavior in order to achieve spatial and temporal harmony between people and their surroundings. Due of the profession's positive impact on society, more individuals are getting interested in architecture.
Architecture is increasingly taking into account one of the key theories: "Our emotional and physical well-being is reliant on the building, the surroundings, and the cities we live in." It is still a minor topic in our Myanmar architectural community, even though other scientific disciplines have concentrated on human spatial experience and the spatiotemporal relationship between people and their settings. How we can help the country recover from the wreckage and how to deal with the psychological trauma of the people must be investigated and addressed
From January 22 to February 22, 2022, the VSoA team organized an architectural design workshop with a healing theme in order to begin our architectural education journey. Anyone with an interest in architecture was welcome to attend the session. It is our goal in this workshop to identify viable solutions for our community under the topic of "Healing Through Architecture." A trauma-informed approach to healing architecture was discussed at the workshop. Attendees learned not only how to use architecture to aid in the healing process, but also how to construct a design from beginning to end. A total of 13 groups of participants were formed to work on the 13 various proposal designs in their preferred locations, with project narratives and architectural design development in mind.
Participant ideas and suggested designs for the "Healing Through Architecture" virtual exhibit will be on display from February 23rd through February 28th, 2022, to highlight how the participants represented user well-being ideals while employing architecture as a catalyst for the healing process.
Architectural education may be gained by anybody who is truly interested, and that's why VSoA focuses on sharing architectural inspiration in an academic setting rather than training specific students.
